Polar Helicopters is an CAA Approved Type Rating Organisation, allowing us to train Pilots on different types of helicopter.
Whilst the PPL(H) holder is initially only entitled to fly the helicopter type on which the training was completed, it is only a matter of a short flying course (usually a minimum of 5 hours) to add an extra type to the licence.
For pilots whose PPL(H) training was completed on the R22, a type rating on the R44 offers familiar controls and cockpit layout, but a more powerful six cylinder engine and hydraulic controls creates a faster and smoother flight. More importantly, it also offers room for 2 extra passengers
We can also offer turbine conversions onto the ever popular and reliable 5 seat Bell 206 Jet Ranger……
